What is there to do as a helper?

There's a wide variety of people we need - each section here contains possible activities for a helper, but we're open to your skills and to different ways you'd like to contribute.

  • Confluence maintainers
Helpers, who make sure that pages belong to correct categories (for example the tab "events" is not under the category "resources"). Ultimately, they will help with user accessibility on the platform, as their task is to make sure everything is in the right place.
    • Confluence is the online wiki we use to store, categorize and order our documents to create and maintain an understandable overview of our project, its design philosophies, and its goals. You are on it right now.

  • Writers:

    • Researchers: People with research skills, who even though possibly don't understand much of computer science, can gather up information and write guides
    • Guide writers: People who would go on the website and try to use it, then write a guide for future users (for example: try to create an event on the OMS, then write a short user guide on how to do it)
    • Grammar NazisHelpers in editing the content of the website such as checking grammar and making sure the sentences make sense.

  • Testers
People who will go on the website, try to use it, and report all the bugs they encountered.

  • Pushers
People who will push their peers to join in helping developing the platform - so they will push others to become another helper for the OMS (be it technical or non-technical)

  • More?
If you can think of another way to help, we're open!

Technical (click to read why you should join)

  • QA (Quality Assurance)
Automated testers, writers of test cases, test suites, stuff

  • Backend devs
Helping in the development of the API

  • Frontend devs
Helping in the development of the eye-candy

  • DevOps
Helping in the development of the infrastructure (for the developers)

So how do I join?
